What : Cooking Contest.
When : Sunday, July 28th 1PM
Where: Porch of Public Safety Building. Please refer to festival map.
Guidelines:
- Eligibility : Adults only
- Items : Prepare an appetizer and a dessert of your choice. It is appropriate to prepare suitable accompanying items to your appetizer such as chutneys, dips, sauces, relishes, etc.
- Cuisine : Bring your favorite regional delicacies (Punjabi, Bengali, Andhra, Kerala, Gujarati, Rajashtani etc,)
- Restrictions : Home cooked, vegetarian, no onion or garlic.
- Serving Size : Typical restaurant dish (4-5 servings)
Serving ware : Please bring appropriate serving spoons, and (at least 6 each of) plates, forks, spoons and paper napkins for the judges.
- Optionals:
- Dress up in your regional costume.
- Explain the traditional and cultural aspects of your preparation (e.g. festival preparation)
- Provide a description of your recipe on an attractive display board.
Judging & Prizes:
- Some local restaurateurs will be invited to judge the entrants based on the following criteria
- Presentation
- Taste
- Authenticity
- The judge’s decisions are final.
Prizes : Winners will be announced and rewarded on Ganga Stage @ 5 PM. Participants are required to be present at this ceremony.

What : Rangoli Contest
When : Sunday, July 28th 1PM – 3PM
Where : Porch of Public Safety Building. Please refer to festival map.
Guidelines:
- Eligibility: All ages are welcome.
- A 3ft x 4ft foam board will be provided to each of the participants.
- The participants will bring all other materials required for their Rangoli art.
- Rangoli art must be prepared from scratch on the boards provided.
- Rangoli art must not offend viewers and be presentable to viewers of all ages.
- Rangoli art should be completed by 3PM, ready for judging.
Judging & Prizes:
- Judges’ opinions will determine the winners.
- Prizes : Winners will be announced and rewarded on Ganga Stage @ 3:30 PM. Participants are required to be present at this ceremony.

What : Chess Competition
When : Saturday, July 27th 12PM – 7PM
Where : Entrance of Redmond City Hall building. Please refer to festival map.
Who :
- Ages 5 – 7 Start Time : 12PM
- Ages 8 – 10 Start Time : 12 PM
- Ages 11 – 13 Start Time : 2 PM
- Ages 14 – 17 Start Time : 3 PM
- Ages 18+ Start Time : 4 PM
Guidelines:
- All participants will bring their own Chess boards.
- Please be at the competition area 15 mins before the start time for your age group.
- This is an individual competition.
- The competition will be held in knockout format.
- Winners stay and losers leave.
- Fair play is expected from all participants. Seeking outside help will be disqualifying.
- The event has to conclude on Saturday.
Judging & Prizes:
- The participants will be their own judges. Monitors will be present to oversee the competition.
- The winners in each group will be awarded prizes on Ganga stage @5PM on Sunday.

What : Henna Contest
When : Sunday, July 28th 2PM – 4PM
Where : Porch of Public Safety Building. Please refer to festival map.
Guidelines:
- Participants should bring their own henna/mehendi cones.
- This is an individual event (no teaming with other artists).
- Participants can apply henna on the palm as well as the dorsal side of either their own hand or that of a partner that they bring along.
- Participants are not allowed to use design books or any other reference material.
- Henna art should not be offensive.
Judging & Prizes:
The participants will be judged based on :
- Creativity
- Neatness
- Intricacy of design.
The judge’s decisions are final.
